[helpful safety hints] -
By Elizabeth Stiinley
Plymouth Safety Writer
FOG IS DANGEROUS
You haven’t the slightest
notion what’s ahead when
you enter a patch of fog on
the highway.
You can’t possibly know
whether your visibility will be
limited to on
ly a few feet
or a hundred
'yards, but you
should real
wMf * ze that you’re
H‘ n a touchy
Gl \U situation.
If you do not slow down
immediately, you might hit
the rear of a car ahead whose
driver did slow down quickly.
But if you do slow down
right away, a following driver
who didn’t could crash into
you. Recently, 40 cars piled
up on a freeway crash in
the fog.
Look down the road and
“read” the fog density by
seeing if cars ahead, road
signs or other objects are be
coming less clear. If so, that’s
when you start slowing down.
Turn your headlights on
to low beam, even in daylight.
You want to see and be seen
by other drivers. Never use
bright lights at night. The
beam reflects off the fog and
bounces back at you, like
sunlight reflected off a mirror.
Use windshield washers,
wipers and the defogging fan
to prevent moisture build
up inside and out.
Guide on the road’s center
line or the right edge and
watch for signs indicating
curves or other potential
hazards.
If you decide the fog is
too thick, pull off the road
if you can find a safe place.
Leave your lights on, turn
on the hazard-warning flash
ers. Seeing and being seen is
what it’s all about in fog.

GEORGIA EGG COMMISSION
Mis Beverly Dunn, Home Economics Coordinator

ATLANTA (PRN) - Avoid the Christmas lag and the
Christmas drag this year. Be sure that you eat a wholesome and
substantial breakfast before tackling those special Christmas
projects. Everyone should eat breakfast all of the time, but
especially when they have a hectic schedule ahead. Would you
start on a long trip in your car when it is low on fuel? Os course
not. So isn’t it logical that you should put fuel in your body for
the long days’ work. For a fantastic day-starter, a nutritious
lunch, or a quick and easy supper, here is Deviled Ham ‘n’ Egg
Crescent Points.
DEVILED HAM ‘N’ EGG CRESCENT POINTS
1 can refrigerated quick crescent dinner rolls
1 large can (4 1/2 to 5 1/4 ounces) deviled ham spread
8 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
Dash of pepper
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
Unroll dough; separate into 8 triangles. Place on ungreased
cookie sheet. Bake at 357 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until
golden brown. Combine all remaining ingredients, except
deviled ham, to make scrambled eggs.
Spread deviled ham spread on hot triangles. Top with
scrambled eggs. Garnish with additional ham spread or parsley.
Serve hot. Makes 8 crescent points.
