The Child
Life Fund
The Child Life Fund, a
special program for the
children in Talmadge Hospital’s
pediactric unit, received a
welcome addition recently
when $270 was added to its
total.
The donation was
particularly meaningful
because it represented the
efforts of 38 patients at the
Georgia War Veterans Nursing
Home who raised the money as
their annual Christmas
contribution to the children in
Talmadage.
The Child Life Fund is a
year-round program, designed
to provide the services most
necessary for the happiness and
well being of the young
patients. Richard Gillock,
administrator of Talmadge,
said that the fund may be used
to buy toys, or equipment, or
to help meet the expenses of
families who otherwise could
not remain in Augusta during
the children’s stay in the
hospital.
This was the fifth year that
the veterans have raised money
for the young patients.
