This is the aftermath of a hurricane that left 400 dead in Corpus C iristi
in 1919. Red Cross was called in after the damage v. as done.
When Hurricane Allen hit Corpus Christi in 1980, Red Cr is; was
there before the disaster struck—to help people prepare and evac ate.
We were there during the crisis to help provide relief. And, afte- v .rds,
we were there to help the victims minimize their lain. Hurricar r Z.llen
claimed two lives in Corpus Christi.
One hundred years of experience with disaster has taught us that
being prepared for it is half the battle.
