Enrolls At
Midland
Valley
Kevin Marc Wise
will be a big hit at Midland
Valley High School this
year, if his record last year
at LBC Middle School in
any indication.
He won awards for the
highest academic
achievement in the eighth
grade in English, Algebra,
Science, Social Studies, and
physical education.
He was president of
the Student Council, he
won first prize in the CSRA
Engineering Fair,he was a
member of the principal’s
list, and he was the most
valuable player on the
Math Match Team.
10th District Nurses To Meet
The Tenth District
Georgia Nurses’ Association
will hold their first meeting
of the year Sept. 8 at
Health Central, 639 13th St.
The meeting will begin at 7
p.m.
An appraisal of the
health of the organization
will be done by Patricia
Seaman, president of the

registration varies according

students last name.

will register from 8:30 a.m.

The Richmond County
Recreation and Parks
Department is taking a bus
load to Atlanta, Sept. 27 to
see the Braves play the
Cincinnati Reds. Game time
is 2:45 p.m Registration
to 9:30 a.m. Students J-M
will go through the process
between 9:30 a.m. and
10:30 a.m., and those with
last names falling between
N and Z will register from
10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. If
students miss their time,
they must register between
1:00 p.m. and 4 p.m. Any
returning student who did
not pre-register must also
register between 1 p.m.
and 4 p.m.
Classes will begin for
the fall quarter on Monday,
September, 21, 1981.

Post Sends 4 To Boys State
The Screen-’.
Ramsby Post 505 erf the
American Legion recently
sent four local youths to
Boys State, a national
program providing
instruction and practical
application and procedures
of city, county and state
government.
Recipients of
the full expense awards
were Leroy Williams Jr. of
Lucy Laney High School,
Anthony .Curry of T.W..
Josey, Landir Williams Os
Glenn Hills and Karl O.
Strother of Richmond
Academy-
Boys State is held
annually on the campus of
Georgia Southern College.
A session, usually lasting
one week, is conducted in
each of the 50 states and
the District of Columbia,
with top-ranking high
school boys based on
leadership, character and
scholarship. Recipients
must be in the upper third
of their classes, have above
average leadership ability,
high moral character and
be physically fit.
Boys State has been
sponsored by The American
Legion since 1940, by the
American Legion witn all
local postan. and other
interested civic, fraternal
and patriotic organizations

The Warren Road
Community Center is
opening up registration for
fall programs and classes.
Programs to be offered
include: touch football,
intermediate jr. tennis, pre
school enrichment activities,
arts and crafts, . co-ed
volleybally, American
karate, movie of the month,
gymnastics, belly dancing,
artist club, aerobic dancing,
inc., ladies exercise
(Morning and Evening).
