Shall we give up the church?
Jesus affirmed, “My words shall
never pass away” (Matthew
14:35). It is true that Jesus was
born in a stable, wrapped in swad
dling clothes and laid in a manger,
lived in an agricultural town and
did not travel more than two hun
dred miles from the place where he
was born, but he related to people
of his day, and he stepped out of
the binding boundary of time and
has become the now Christ for
every generation-every age, every
race, every tribe and every tongue.
Jesus Christ is the most
cosmopolitan man who ever lived.
This Now Christ is so relevant
because he is the creative Christ.
All things were made be him;
and without him was not anything
made that was made.
For by him were all things
created, that are in heaven, and
that are in earth, visible and in
visible, whether they be thrones, or
dominions, or principalities, or
powers: all things were created by
him, and for him.
And he is before all things, and

We cannot afford to give up the
church if we want to live beyond
the grave.
If you give up the church, you
are depreciating the value of the
church that was placed upon it by
God.
Take heed therefore unto your
selves, and to all the flock, over the
which the Holy Ghost hath made
you overseers, to feed the church
of God, which he hath purcshased
with his own blood.(Acts 20:28).
For the husband is the head of
tghe wife, even as Christ is the
head of the church: and he is the
saviour of the body. Therefore as
the church is subject unto Christ,
so let the wives be to their own
husbands in every thing. Hussban
ds, love your wives even as Christ
loved the church, and gave himself
for it (Ephesians 5:23-25).
The value of the church can be
measured by the suffering of Jesus
on the cross. Jesus gave his life in
order to build his church. No one
can have the mind of Christ and
from Virginia Union . He has done
extensive work in Prison Ministry.

ference, of which Rev. R.E.
Donaldson is president. Choirs
from various churches will provide

by him all things consist.
And he is the head of the body,
the church: who is the beginning,
the firstborn from the dead; that in

Every molecule, every moun

every star exist because of him.
This Jesus holds the whole world
in his hands.
The invigorating air that we
breathe, the thirst-quenching water
that we drink, the sparkling

rain that waters the food that we

the palpitation of our hearts, and
every, every breath that we

in order to live physically, you

problem that he cannot solve, no
storm that he cannot calm and
Jesus is so inextricably bound
together with his church that you
cannot destroy one without
destroying the other. Jesus cannot

treat his church as an un-necessary
body.
If you give up the church, you
give up the family of God. Paul
propounded, “But if I tarry long,
that thou mayest know thou
oughtest to behave thyself in the
house of God, which is the church
of the living God, the pillar and
ground of the truth” (ITimothy
3:15).
A child belongs to this earthly
family by the virtue of physical bir
th. One becomes a child of God by
the new birth (John 3:3-5). God
has children on the outside of his
family. Paul places the supreme
value of being a part of the church
in Romnas 8:16, 17:
The Spirit itself beareth witness
with our spirit, that we are childr
fen of God: And if children then
heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs
with Christ; if so be that we suffer
with him, that we may be also
glorified together.
How can you make it to heaven
without being in the family of
God? No way, no way, my
brother; you cannot afford to give
up the church.
