It has great capacity for work; beautiful smooth, aHd quiet movement, rapid execution, cer tainty of operation, and delightful ease, that at once commends it above all others. The working TgShs arc all steel; the bobbins hold 100 yards of thread • the stitch is the firmest of all the stitches made, neat and regular, and can be regulated in a moment to sew stitches from an inch in length on coarse material down to the finest, so infinitesimal as to be hardly discernable with the naked eye, and with a rapidity rendering it impossible to count them as fast as made ; it does to perfection all kinds of heavy, coarse, plain, fine, or fancy needle work with case, and far less labor than re o Hired on other machines. It needs no commen dation, the rapid sales, increasing demand, and voluntary encomiums from the press, and the Th.mMwdsof families who nse them, amply testi fy to their undoubted worth .r a rtaadard aud re liable household necessity, extending lta populari ty each day. We are informed that onr efficient Connty Surveyor, J. C. Harris, is making preparations to draft an ac curate and full map of our grow ing town. Strange as it may seem, there is at present no authentic map from which purchasers or holders of town property could define the location or the limits of loti, and they are farced to depend on the doubtful memory of the “oldest inhabitant.” Such vague and unpertain busi ness transactions have already caused some mistakes, and will, eveutnally, involve opr citizens in mnch litiga tion.
