A Move that Will Da Good.
The pastors and members of the
several churches in this place have
assented to and are now carrying ont
a plan which we think will result in
good to each, aud will establish a
religious feeling that will long exist
in the community and banish the
possibility of little wrangles which
too often prevail. The pastors of the
churches alternate every Sunday
night in preaching *at the other
churches not their own, Mr. My-
nek one Sunday uight preaching at
the Baptist church, and the next
Sunday night Mr. Harris preaching
at the Methodist church, and then
these two gentlemen alternating in
the same manner with Mr. Jones.
The members of each of the churches
seem almost universally to be pleas
ed with the plan.
A Good Showinc.
Through the courtesy of our cap
able and obliging tax receiver, Mr.
J. M. Arrington, we have been per
mitted to examine the digest of Polk
county lor this year. We find that
the number of polls is 1,941). Last
year the number was 1,803, showing
an increase 146. Of professions there
are 27—10 'awyers, 15 doctors and
two dentists. The aggregate value
of whole property is 81,673,205.—
Last year it was $1,403,067, which
•hows a gratifying increase of $270,-
738. But not among the least grat
ifying frfkures of the digest is the
number of defaulters which it shows,
there being only three in the county.
Our people are not lagging in the
march of. progress.

as utility and oeamy are concerned.
In James Boss' Patent Qo'd Watch

of the most simple nature, as fol

are then passed between polished
steel rollers, and the result is a strip
of heavy plated composition, from

these cases is sufficiently thick to
admit of all kinds of chasing, en

perfectly smooth by time and use
without removing the gold.
This is the only case made with two
