Editor Advertiser: Will you
permit me space enough in your
columns to say to those friends who
have so earnestly espoused my name
n the nomination for Senator from
the 38th district, and to the voters
in the counties of Polk, Paulding

or otherwise. I am satisfied with
tiie assurance of support from so
many men in various sections of the
disirict that I could be elected. But
I am equally satisfied that it would
cause dissension, where-there should

unwilling to be the cause, even re

boiling, seething political caldron.

and while some may be a little skep

three to call a convention, for the
sake of harmony and peace, we hope
the people will accept it, and send
delegates to the Cedartown conven

nate some man who will, at least se
cure the hearty support of his party.
Three delegates will be- elected
from each county militia district,
and hence the convention will be
composed of twenty-one members.
These delegates are to be selected
next Wednesday, the 8th instant.—
