Methodist Sunday Nchool Resolution*.
Our Sunday School and the com
munity have suffered another loss.
Grief again has forced Its unwelcome
presence upon us In the death of Gene
Chambles*, by which familiar name
we choose to call him, and we are at
a loss to adequately express our feel
ing. There is a love too great for
utterance, a grief too strong for sen
timent, yet we are constrained to ex
press our appreciation of the virtues
of our deceased brother, and record as
beat we can in language, our sense or
grief and loss at his departure from
our midst. Our brother was a mem
ber of this Sunday School and was
in every way worthy of our love. He
died in the height of young manhood,
but lived long enough to endear him
self to a large circle of admiring
loved ones. He loved the Truth, Pa
tience, Kindness, Generosity. Humili
ty, Courtesy, Unselfishness, Good tem
per, Guilessness, Sincerity, these were
his charaoterlstles; and they mark
close to a perfect man, and can claim
with unbounded confidence the
promise of a Home whoRe light is
the love and shining countenance of
the God of Heaven. Death has claim
ed him, but death Is but the gate to
another life. We bow our heads
at going out, but enter straight an
other golden chamber of the Kings,
larger than this we leave and lovelier
far. Then, In shadowy glimpses lot
iih not be disturbed, uh the gloom
is quickly dispelled, and life will
bloom for eternity in a paradise re
gained. Such must It be with our
departed brother. We can not call
hack to Its earthly mansion hi a
fleeting breath, we must be content
to record this mournful ceremony of
respect and wait with patience till
we shall look upon his face again.
To the family of our brother we, as
a school, tender our deepest sym
pathy.
Bq it resolved, that we adopt the
above memorial upon the death of our
deceased brother, and that the same
be spread upon the minutes of our
School, and that a copy be furnished
his family and to the two county pa
pers for publication. c
