A REMARKABLE INCIDENT.
Nov. 1st I received a postal from
Mr. .James Evans, of Abbeville, S.
C., inquiring If I was the Dr. Rus
sell who lived at Townsville, S. C..
In 1867. 1 answered by postal that
I was. I had no Idea why he made
the inquiry.
Tuesday, Nov. 12th, I received a P.
O. order for ten dollars from Mr.
Evans, stating that he was indebted
to me that amount. He did not
state what he was indebted to me
for. 1 presume that it was a med
ical account, as I was then practic
ing medicine. Thq gentleman stated
further that he had for years been
trying to get my address, and had
only accidentally succeeded. Abbe
ville Is about 40 miles south of
Townsville, which accounts for his
difficulty in locating me.

man, or what his debt was for.
