BERRIEN - . A J A 19,440
This is a gain since the last cen-
sus of 8,746, or about 82 per cent .
Few counties equal or surpass
Berrien and we are proud of our
highly creditable showing. In
one point, however,-we are dis¬
jointed. We had our hearts
set on 20,000 inhabitants and
two representatives in the Gen-
ral Assembly. We missed our
mark just a Tittle, losing our
• place in the list of counties en-
t.*ll%d to two representatives by
just one place and less than three
hundred in population.

was taken in charge by the

was a prominent member,- and
was carried over to the old fuin-

the masonic bifoltierhood laid
their deceased brother to rest

of that order.
Dr. Peters was a Berridn Co.

practicing medicine about ten
years, being located in Adel dur¬

pfoniinent in business ciicles, as

two children.
The masonic attendance was
large, good delegations being
present from Nashville, Hahira;
Adel and Moultrie, Messrs.
Monk, Lamb and Henddrson
represented the Moultrie lodge
of which he was a member. Mr.
Little who has charge of Dr.
Peters’ business C, t Mdultrie also
attended the burial. The neigh¬

usually large, showing the high
esteem in which he was held by
all who knew him.
It is supposed that consump¬
