dyess entirely in woolen
and dust the inside of their clothing
with flour of sulphur. They should
abstain from taking beef, acids,
sweets, sugar or pastry, but should
take plenty of ruilk, celery stewed
in milk or prepared in other ways
and onions. They should rub the
joints night and morning with a
brine of salt, rubbing it in until the
£kin is dry.
The Sewing Machine.
When a sewing machine runs hard
.oil it all over vv;th kerosene and
sew awhile, or run the machine with-
out s'ewing, to allow the oU to reach
every crevice. Wipe away all the
kerosene, and oil again with some
good machine oil. The machine will
seem like a new one; it will ran so
much easier.

New V/ay to Brew Tea.
Among the various ways authority in which
tea can be brewed an rec¬
ommends the following: Moisten ap
ounce of tea, finely ground, with
cold water and let it stand for
twenty minutes. Then pour on the
tea a scant pint of boiling water,
and in .one minute it is ready to
■drink.
To Remove Warts.
Warts may he removed, says a
celebrated physician, by^ rubbing
them night and morning until a
moistened piece of muriate of any-
monia (sal ammoniac). They soften
and dwindle away, leaving no such
mark as follows their dispersion
wjth lunpr caustic.

Put into a bottle half a pint each
of turpentine and linseed oil and
one gill each of methylated spirits
and vinegar, shaking these well to-
gether till thoroughly mixed. Al-
ways remember to shake the bottle
well before using.
g/ench Cake.
One cup of sugar, two eggs, one-
fourth cup of butter, ,one-half cup
of milk, one and a half cups of Hour,
one teaspoonful of cream of tartar,
one-half teaspoonful of soda.
Cleaning the Silver.
Don’t throw away your sour milk,
Use it to clean silver and save your
back and arms. Merely let the sil-
ver 'stand in the milk for a time.
No scrubbing is necessary.
To Clean Enameled Ware.
Enameled ware that has become
burned or discolored may be cleaned
by rubbing with a paste formed of
coarse salt and vinegar.

or persons to sell, or offer for sale, do¬
mestic wines made from grapes, berries
or lands fruits purchased leased by him or grown on
owned, or rented by the
seller without procuring the license and
paying the tax upon same, which from
and after the said 1st day of January,
L905 shall be One Thousand Dollar-,
for Bezrieu County, said license to be
granted and tax to be paid to the Board
of Commissioners of said Berrien Coun¬
ty, and said license to hold good for and
during the fall term of one year from
the 1st day of January, 1905.
