A--A1I Have Sinned. The
first letter. A, stands for a
simple little word but one that
is so broad in scope that no
one is excluded--ALL. Did you
ever hear the verse, “For all
have sinned and come short of
the glory of God.” Rom. 3:23.
Men must be brought to realize
that they are sinners before
they will see the need of a
Saviour.
No man ever sent for a
physician until he saw that he
was sick and needed him. No
one ever asks Christ to forgive
his sins until he sees that they
need to be forgiven.
“If we say that we have no
sin, we deceive ourselves and
the truth is not in us.” I John
1:8. Also, “If we say that we
have not sinned, we make Him
a liar and His word is not in
us.” I John 1:10. You would
not call God a liar, would you?
Labor Department
Slates Hearing
On Safety Rules
The Georgia Department of
Labor will hold a public
hearing Wednesday, June 12, in
Atlanta on proposed changes in
the rules of the department’s
Safety Inspection Division,
Commissioner Sam Caldwell
announced today.
The hearing will be held at
9:30 a.m. in the Letting Room
(No. 401) of the State
Highway Building, 2 Capitol
Square, Atlanta.
The subject of the hearing
and the issues involved will be
the promulgation of the
official safety rules of the
department, replacing the 60
existing rules made pursuant to
Section 54-122(d) of the Code
of Georgia Annotated.
All interested parties will be
given an opportunity to submit
dates, views or arguments,
either orally or in writing.
Commissioner Caldwell and
Assistant Commissioner J. T.
Gregory will preside.
The rule changes include
investigation and report of
accidental injuries, hazardous
materials, machinery
construction enclosures,
electrical and pressure-
equipment usage; elevators,
hand tool requirements, exit
and passageway maintenance,
floor loads, stairways, ladders,
handling and storage of
materials, use of personal
protective equipment, factory
housekeeping and sanitation
and lifting requirements for
women and minors.
During the past year the
Safety Commission, appointed
by Caldwell and headed by Dr.
William N. Cox of Georgia
Tech, has conducted
exhaustive research on these
rules. On April 25 the
commission - with all members
present -- unanimously
recommended that about 75
new rules replace the existing
regulations.
This notice is given to
comply with the requirements
of the Georgia Administrative
Procedures Act, which controls
the adoption of rules by state
agencies.
Then you must admit unless
you have accepted the simple
plan of salvation, you are a
sinner. Now you may say, “I
understand that I’ve sinned,
what is the solution to the
problem? What must I do to be
saved?”
This brings us to the second
thought -the letter, B.
B-Believe on the Lord Jesus
Christ. This could be “born
again” but I have another word
in mind-believe.
Paul could have said, “Go
join the church that will settle
it, or go and be baptized and
the water will wash your sins
away.” But he knew that
wouldn’t work. He could have
also said, “Reform your life.
Stop drinking, cursing,
gambling, turn over a new
leaf.” But reformation cleans
the outside only, man needs a
new heart.
“Believe on the Lord Jesus
Christ and thou shall be saved
and thy house.” Acts 16:31
And it is in perfect harmony
with other scripture, “Verily,
verily, I say unto you, He that
believeth on Me hath
everlasting life. “John 6:47.
Now the answer to our
question of how to be saved
and obtain everlasting life is by
faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour
and Lord.
