able. I don't want to give you an exact date, just yet, because the
“if’ and “when” is dependent on me learning how to do it!
Now, I know some are thinking, “What's the big deal? Any teen
ager or young adult today can do it!” And, that’s very true. How
ever, I am a teenager of the 80s and a young adult of the 90s-
trust me—it’s a BIG DEAL! I figure that if 1 announce my inten
tions to you, then I will have more incentive to get it done. So,
we will see what happens!
There are many different things that must be worked out, which
include securing a website domain and getting PayPal set up for
the business, so online subscribers can pay without trying to find
me (which I hear is sometimes hard to do. I apologize for that,
but that’s another thing for which IVe found no good solution),
Here’s just an example of what I mean when I say, “It’s a big
deal": I very fortunately found some wonderful people in Arkan
sas to help me out with this endeavor. Bless their hearts, they
are so sweet and patient, and they have answered every single
question i can come up with--wit bout hesitation. Plus, they have
answered those questions in language that I can comprehend. (I
don’t speak computer/tech language.) Anyway, we now have a
website domain, and I was told that my next step is to set up
PayPal, No problem-so ] initially thought! Just let me tell you,
what should have taken about two minutes, took me four whole
days!
To open a new PayPal account, the first thing you have to do is
provide your email address. So, I typed in tcnews@pstel.net, and,
a message came up saying this email is address belongs to an
other account. Thankfully, after searching through computers,
old records, and the dark recesses of my brain, 1 discovered that
and I do not want to even try to manage two email accounts, so I
decided to go to the old PayPal account and change it to a busi
ness account, rather than a personal one. It wanted a user name
and password. Well, I had no earthly idea-that was 20 years
ago. I struggle with remembering what happened two seconds
ago!
So, rather than getting still and figuring out a logical way to do
this, I wigged out. It was my daughter, Hayli, to the rescue. In
about 30 seconds, she had reset the password. I was in and eas
ily began the process of switching to the business account.
About two steps later, I bit another hitch. The account was still
linked to a bank and credit card that 1 no longer use. So, I had to
delete that info, and “add a bank”. Here came several more user
names and passwords and protection questions that I didn’t know!
To make another long story a little shorter...There was a way to
complete this, w ithout all that, but it took two days! Anyway, it
works now (1 think).
Now, I’m down to learning how to actually get the paper on the
website and learning how to operate everything. Then, the online
editions will be available.
Just so you know, the online editions will NOT replace the print
editions. If you want to get The Taylor County News, you can get
the print edition, the online subscription, or both. And, printed
copies will still be available in local stores, and mailed subscrip
tions will still go out, I’m just attempting to help with the prob
lem of folks not getting their papers in a timely manner by mail.
(They are mailed every Wednesday morning, y’all! I promise.)
m let you know when I get it all figured out. God willing, it
won’t he too awful long!

Not being a Bible scholar this pundit nonetheless does enjoy
reading it. It is a fount of inspiration and truth during the
COVID-19 lockdown and provides some interesting history
that is relevant to today’s trials.
Consider this; about 841 years before Jesus Christ came to
Earth to save us from our sin there was a Jewish priest, named
Jehoiada. The Jewish Virtual Library notes that cleric lived
for 130 years and attained the rank of chief priest in the
Tbmple of Jerusalem during Athaliah. She was the only fe
male descendant of King David to rule over Judah. She was
evil incarnate and decreed that all Judah worship Baal.
To consolidate her power she had all her family, heirs to the
throne, murdered. Jehoiada and his wife Jehosheba however
stealthily sheltered her seventh grandson Joash, aged one
year, in a secret chamber of the Temple in Jerusalem. On his
seventh birthday, Jehoiada led a coup that ousted Athaliah
and installed Joash as king. Judah’s people then
impassionedly rid Judah of the worship of Baal.
Jehoiada fathered a son, Benaiah a member of King David's
37-man Special Forces group. Benaiah was from Kabzeel a
small town east of Bathsheba near the Dead Sea. He served
in various roles, an army division commander, commander-
in-chief of the army, and as the commander of the Cherethites
and Pelethites an elite mercenary outfit. It consisted mostly
of Philistines used to do special functions for the king such as
personal protection (similar to the US Secret Service).
The Bible tells us Benaiah was a fearless, courageous, and
strong leader: 2 Samuel 23:20-21, “Benaiah son of Jehoiada,
a valiant fighter from Kabzeel, performed great exploits. He
struck down Moab’s two mightiest warriors. He also went
down into a pit on a snowy day and killed a lion. And he struck
down a huge Egyptian, Although the Egyptian had a spear in
his hand, Benaiah went against him with a club. He snatched
the spear from the Egyptian’s hand and killed him with his
own spear.”
That exploit is better detailed in 1 Chronicles 11:23-24: “And
he struck down an Egyptian who was five cubits (about 9 feet)
Scripture Of

O death, where is thy sting? O grave,
where is thy victory? The sting of

tall. Although the Egyptian had a spear like a weaver’s rod
110 feet long with a 15-pound spear point) in his hand, Benaiah
went against him with a club. He snatched the spear from
the Egyptian’s hand and killed him with his own spear. Such
were the exploits of Benaiah son of Jehoiada; he too was as
famous as the three mighty warriors.”
Right about now, you are asking what does Benaiah, that
tall Egyptian, and those Moabites in particular have to do
with us Americans today coping with COVID-19?
Well frankly speaking, not much.
FIowever, America has Moabites citizens in Moab, Utah and
it has been in the news on two occasions, first after its own
version of 9-11!
On September 11, 2018, The Salt Lake Tribune reported
Moab Police Chief Jim Winder saying the driver of a large
pickup truck accidentally rammed one corner of the State
Liquor Store (Utah owns all the liquor joints). Chief Winder
said Moabites would be without bottled spirits for days; and
it was! The town folk suffered terribly without a steady flow
of booze.
The second newsworthy story out of Moab came April 23,
2020. Carter Pape ofThe Times-Independent (Serving South
east Utah since 1896) wrote, ‘The Southeast Utah Health
Department announced Thursday evening, April 23 that a
second person in Grand County tested positive for COVID-
19. A spokesperson for the Department of Alcoholic; Beverage
Control announced around the same time that an employee
of the Moab liquor store tested positive,. According to the
health department, the county has only one active, confirmed
case of COVID-19 as of Thursday, suggesting that the case
announced by the health department was the same case an
nounced by the ABC department...The Moab liquor store
closed Thursday, with a sign in the door announcing that the
building ‘has been exposed to COVID-19.‘
“[Utah spokesman] Wood said Thursday afternoon prior to
the announcement of the positive test result that he hoped
the store could reopen Monday after a deep cleaning Satur
day - assuming the COVID-19 tests of employees came back
negative.
“After the positive test result was announced that evening,
Wood said that he was unsure whether the store could be
restated or temporarily staffed in time for a Monday reopen
ing.”
Considering Utah identified Moab's only COVID-19 carrier
let us hope the folks suffering the DTs didn’t lynch the per
son! Life is full of weirdness.

Revelation is so difficult to read that many never try. The
book begins with a blessing for those who read its proph
ecy and ends with a warning that anyone who alters its
prophecy will have his name removed from the ‘Book of
Life. 1
I spent many hours discussing Revelation with school
mate Dr. Tom Webb, an authority on this subject. Once I
taught Revelation at Sunday School and saw the room fill
quickly.
Revelation’s author identifies himself as John (1:1). Chris
tian tradition identified John as author of the fourth gos
pel. According to first verse, the visions of future events
were given (1) by God (2) to Jesus Christ, who used (3) an
angel to impart it to (4) John. Revelation was written circa
95 A.D., during the reign of the wicked Roman Emperor
Domitian (81-96 A.D). John had been exiled to the Island
of Patmos in the Aegean Sea for proclaiming the gospel (1:
9).
God told John to put the visions in a book (1:11) and to
distribute the book to the seven churches of Asia Minor:
Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatrra, Sardis, Philadel
phia and Laodicea. Ideas for improvement emerge from
studying the shortcomings of these churches (Chs 2-3). For
example, the church at Laodicea (3:16) was “lukewarm,
neither hot, nor cold.’’
John used “symbols” and “numbers” to conceal its mes
sage from Roman authorities. The symbology prompted a
modem sect to interpret chapter 14 as meaning that only
144,000 will enter heaven. Revelation also employed vivid
imaginary. Examples are the Lamb (Jesus), the Dragon
(Satan), the Beast (Antichrist), and the False Prophet (3rd
person of unholy trinity). Collectively, the seven seals (Chs
6 to 8:5), the seven trumpets (Chs 8:6 to 11) and the seven
bowls (Chs 15 -16) represent God’s judgments against
mankind. The Throne Room of Heaven (Ch 4) will make
your hair stand up. The two resurrected witnesses (Ch 11)
are reminiscent of Moses and Elijah. The Great Harlot and
Babylon (Chs 17-18) represent Rome and the Roman Em
pire. In chapter 19: 17-21, Jesus rides a white horse lead
ing heaven’s army to defeat the forces of Antichrist, who
was cast into the lake of fire with the False Prophet.
In chapter 20, Satan is cast into a bottomless pit for a
thousand years (1-3), Christ’s Millennial Reign (4-6); Sa
tan defeated and cast into lake of fire (7-10), and God’s
Judgment of Mankind (11-15). Take a tour of Heaven in
chapters 21 and 22: 1-5.
Revelation’s central theme is that “good ultimately tri
umphs over evil.” Rev. 1:3 imparts: “Blessed are those who
read and understand the words of this prophecy, for its
fulfillment is drawing near.” Regarding His return, the
risen Christ confirmed in 22:20, “Surely, I am coming soon!”
