and Micah John, are planning a special day with their mom, Sara Beth Eubanks, They are the
children of Kollin and Sarah Beth Eubanks of Butler.
Man Missing For 10 Days Found Near Reynolds
On April 22nd, 31 year old
Ryan Clark of Thomast.on lied
into the swamp, near the
Spilene building, just north of
Reynolds, as the Reynolds Po
lice Department attempted to
render aid following a report
from a citizen, according to
Reynolds Police Chief Lonnie J.
Holder. Clark was not seen
again until 10 days later, when
the Taylor County Search and
Rescue Team, along with Alpha
K-9 Search and Rescue Team
of Atlanta, located him in the
swamp on Saturday. May 2nd.
The Taylor County Rescue
Team was led by Incident Com
mander Ja mason Byrd,
According to Taylor County
Fire Coordinator Tim Schooler,
the Taylor County Fire Depart
ment conducted an initial
search when Clark was re
ported missing and located only
his hat and a shoe. The search
continued for 10 days.
On Saturday May 2nd. a new
search team was formed that
included Alpha K-9 Search and

School Nutrition Hero Day
Celebrated April 30th
Taylor County School Nutrition Hero Day was April
30th, and nutrition workers for Taylor County Schools
were recognized for the excellent work they do in the
community every day, especially during the current
COV1D-19 challenges. Each nutrition worker was pre
sented with a certificate, signed by State School Super
intendent Richard Woods and State Nutrition Director
Linette Dodson, recognizing them as School Nutrition Heroes in the State of Georgia,

May Election Update
For June 9th Primary

We have issued over 1,200 bal
lots to Taylor County voters in
the past few weeks, and the
ballots are arriving in your
mailboxes,
[The deadline to register to
vote in the June 9th Presiden
tial Preference and General
Primary Elections is Monday,
May 11th.!
I want to answer a few com
mon questions. Yes, there will
he in-person voting. The Board
of Elections & Registration of
fice will be open starting May
18th for advance voting and
will be open for 3 weeks. Yes,
there will he voting at the pre
cincts on June 9, Election Day.
What if I'm not sure if I want
to vote by mail or in person?
You can request the ballot and
turn it in unvoted at the polls
or in the office. We are still cn-

School District Planning
For End-Of-Year
Activities & Graduation
With the 2019-2020 school
year coming to a close. Taylor
County School Superintendent
Jennifer Albritton released the
following statements:
Graduation
Wo are still looking at options
as it relates to the planned com-
mencement on May 23, 2020.
Please understand student
safety and that of our st aff and
community will be of utmost
importance. We will follow all
state and federal guidelines in
place at that time. Our goal is
to have the ceremony as tradi
tional as possible. If it becomes
apparent that cannot be done
safely, we will postpone the
graduation ceremony. The al
ternate date for the graduation
ceremony will be June 20,2020.
For students concerned about
graduation announcements, it
is fine to use May 23. 2020 as
the graduation date. You will
have met all the requirements
by that date.
Baccalaureate
It has been a tradition of the
senior class to have a Baccalau
reate Service before gradua
tion. If we determine it is sale
to host this event, please know
we may have to modify the pro
gram to meet state and federal
safety guidelines. It is also
likely that this event will not
be open to the public.
Senior Athletes
On May 12, 2020 at 8:20 p.m.
(20:20 military time), we will
turn on the football stadium
lights for 20 minutes in honor
of our senior athletes.
Prom
The prom that was scheduled
for May 8, 2020 has been post
poned until June 13, 2020. We
are making plans to live stream
and record the red carpet event
and senior walkout. It is likely
these activities will be closed to
the public.

Voting Equipment Logic &
Accuracy Testing Is May 11
Logic and accuracy testing of the voting equip
ment prior to the General Primary is required by
OOGA 21’2-374(a) and 21-2-379.G(a). Testing will
be performed in the office of the Taylor County
Board of Elections and Registration at IB Ivy SL,
Butler, beginning at 10 a.in., on Monday, May 11.
Testing of the voting equipment is open for pub
lic observation.
