a decided acquisition by the arrival
of Mrs Dr. McCurry. The doctor
and his wife have rented the pretty

Arch Deaton Walton conducted
the services at St. Mathias Episco¬
pal church on Sunday, and Rev.
Clarence Wood was installed “Lay
Reader” for this Parish. It is un¬
derstood that he will reside in Toc¬
coa. The Arch Deacon held com¬

Messrs. Turner and Garland, of
Macon county N. C., moved to
Toccoa last week, and called on us
while in the search for a residence.
We could not point them to a vacant
house in Toccoa. This is not un¬
usual. There has been no vacant
residences in Toccoa for months,and
we might say, truthfully, too, for
three or four years.
There will be no Christmas trees
at any of the churches this year.

Christmas entertainment for the
children.

The Recoup is putting on con¬

North Georgia; this week it prints
a fine letter from Cuba, and a week
or so ago printed a good letter from
Manila, Philippine Islands,—on
the other side of the earth. Quere
it appears when we can send a let¬
ter to either of those islands for 2
cents, when it cost 5 cents to send
one to Mexico. This is because the
stars and stripes wave on those two
islands.
