Ihe first case dished up by the judicial spoon,
was that of the Stato vs. Henry .Sales and Dan
Sutlow, charged by Mariah Richardson, colored,
with playing “Kn kin*.” Her testimony was,
that they disguised themselves and gave her a
sound beating Mie was impeached by both col
oted and white witnes es Verdict not guilty.
'lhe next was Eli Mills, charged with a small at
tack of assault and battery. Verdict guilty. Fine
S2O and costs or GO days in jail.
Dennis, another vs the Mills family, charged
with the same crime, upon a small suffrager, was
acquitted Manse Washington, colored. w<nt
through the judicial mill next, charged with adul
tery. Verdict guilty. Fine ten doll irs and
costs, or ten days in jail. 'I bis being the last case
Court adjourned.
A Young Battle. —On yesterday the monotony
so usual at that hour of the day was broken by a
considerable litt’e mu-p, at about, three o’clo. k,

that two country darkeys had come to tow-n tor
some purpose, and while passing alor g the street
