It was marie known on the streets that at the hour of one o’clock, the mammoth balloon, with its cargo of a real l,verm n, would commence its upward flight; and long be fore the hour named a perfect host of com posed of all grades and sexes, wfere assembled on the citcus lot. Time being up, amid the merry notes from the band, the great air ship was de tached from its fastenings ahd away it went jour neying toward the clouds. The balloon went up a pretty considerable distance, and fell on the edge ••f town Without injury to the daring tenant. The circus canvas was crowded to overflow with an appreciative audience, ail of whom seemed well Satisfied with the performance The whole establishment of Haight Jk Cos., have; acquired, through its merits, an enviable reputation among the show world, and its performance sustain in every particular that reputation. The Centrai. City—On yesterday morning the first number of the Central City, the new -paper started at albany, by Rev Willis M Russell, former ly of this city, made its appearance in oilr sanct um. M( Rusgcll, the editor and pioprietor, .is an old veteran in the news’ paper business,. and is well known to the people of Georgia, having oc cupied the position of an editor in Bainbridge for over sixteen years. The paper is well gotten up, in neat form and substantial character, and being aware of life decidedly fine ability of the propri etor, both as a writer and manager, we predict tor the Central City a bright and prosperous future. We cordially welcome back into the fraternity, the Messrs Russells.and extend our hand with ear* nest wishes for their every success in their new enterprise.
