Among the WWII era items we
would like to borrow for the exhibit
are: photographs; drawings; mili
tary uniforms and medals; journals
and diaries; maps, diagrams, and
charts; service papers; ration cou
pons; air-raid warden material; col
lectible items (radios, toys, etc.);
newspaper clippings, newsletters,
and magazines; posters (especially
U.S. government propaganda post
ers); music and radio recordings of
the era, song sheets; letters: includ
ing V-mail, postcards, and greeting
cards.
Another way in which to partici
pate in this exciting endeavor is the
oral history project. They are vid
eotaping a broad spectrum of WWII
participants; housewives, veterans,
civil servants (essentially, anyone
who lived through the war years).
The video interviews will be made
into a professionally produced short
documentary that will accompany
the exhibit in Union Depot. All in
terviews will be archivally stored
and made available as a learning
resource about the WWII era for
generations to come.
