Charles and Scarlett Burgamy
recently completed a round of
showing hogs in the state of Geor
gia. They competed in the Perry
National Fair, and won 2nd and
3rd place respectfully in the pure
bred division of Hampshires,
making them the top 2 and 3 hogs
in the state. They then went on to
win again in the Georgia State
Fair in Macon and placing 2nd
and 3rd again with their purebred
Hampshires. They also placed
with other hogs, winning 7th and
8th at both fairs. They also
showed animals for other 4-H'ers
in the Albany Fair and placed 2nd
and 5th in the purebred York
shires.
Charles and Scarlett have
worked very hard with their ani
mals, virtually teaching them
selves as they are the only kids
showing hogs in Lee County.
They competed at both big fairs
against 1,300 animals, so their
placings are quite an accomplish
ment. Charles and Scarlett are the
children of Jess and Nancy Jones
of Leesburg.
