Easter Seal of Southern
Georgia held its most successful
fund-raiser of the year recently,
and did so at the expense of the
Lt. Governor.
This event took place at the
Albany Civic Center Thursday,
November 29. The highlight of
this occurrence came to pass
when a table of roasters spent
time lobbing lighthearted barbs
at Mark Taylor. More than 600
people were in attendance. The
roast sent more than $30,000 to
this nonprofit agency.
Roasters included Tommy
Chambless, Barbara Dooley and
Jeff "Bodine" Sinyard, as well
as Senator George Hooks of
Americus, Senator Michael
Meyer Von Bremen, and
Assistant Secretary of State
Teuell Slayton. Ed Lightsey.
Senior Corespondent for
Georgia Trend Magazine, also
served as a roaster. Ken Hodges
emceed this event.
Among the dignitaries in the
audience were Annette Bowling
of Albany ARC, Joel Wernick
of Phoebe Putney Memorial
Hospital, and Jim Wilcox of
WALB. Some other well known
individuals in attendance
included Patsy Martin of Bank
of America, Lee Bettis of
Heritage Bank and Paul
Deloach of Miller Brewing
Company.

to 39 counties in southern
Georgia: this area stretches
from Americus on the northern
side to the Florida state line on
the southern, and from
Waycross to the Alabama state
line. The goal of this nonprofit
agency is to help persons with
disabilities achieve maximum
independence. The executive
