worked a possible family
violence case between two
brothers on October 9. No
charges were filed
in the incident
which oc
curred at
the family
home in
the 100
block of Fifth
Street.
Tammy Jernigan, of
Leesburg, was charged
October 7 with disorderly
conduct following an in
cident at her home by Cpl.
Frank Herndon.
Capt. Chris Prokesh
worked a theft by decep
tion case October 7 that
occurred at a local busi
ness. The customer worked
a flimflam on the cashier
in which the cashier gave
the customer too much
money back while convert
ing smaller bills for larger
bills.
Major David Bullington
worked a lost/stolen tag
case October 3, 2011. The
complainant reported that
his was lost but not sure
where it occurred.
Lt. David Turner
worked a simple
assault (domes
tic violence)
case October 3
that occurred at
a residence in the 100
block of Stonegate Manor
Circle. The aggressor was
told a criminal trespass
warning will be issued
on the next incident at the
request of the complainant.
Major David Bullington
worked a forgery in the
first degree case October
3. The manager of a local
business cashed a check for
an individual. The check
was returned by the bank
for insufficient funds.

City of Leesburg Mayor Jim Quinn signed a proclamation last Wednesday morning recognizing
October as International Alpha Delta Kappa Month. This is an honorary organization for women
educators. Alpha Delta Kappa works to give recognition for outstanding educators, to build
a fraternal fellowship among educators, and to promote educational and charitable projects

Masonic Children’s Home Participants Attend Luke Bryan Concert
Chehaw Lodge #701 in Leesburg carried children from the Masonic
Home in Macon to the Luke Bryan Concert at Luther Williams Field
October 1. They had a great time. The Children’s Home has provided
children throughout Georgia a safe haven for over 100 years. Chehaw
Lodge #701 extends their appreciation to the people in the community
for their help by sponsoring a child to attend the concert.

lice Departments will have
an officer on duty to pick
up and accept any and all
pills, liquids, inhalants, or
other controlled substances.
The Lee County Sheriff’s
Office will accept phar
maceuticals at the lobby of
the Sheriff’s Office located
at 119 Pinewood Road. In
the unincorporated areas
of Lee County, the code
enforcement officer will
pick up items from 10:00
a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with
“No questions being asked”
by any of the accepting
agencies. The departments
will not accept syringes. To
