We copy from an exchange the following
tribute to our enterprising merchant, Mr. J.
Steininger:
While in the city of oaks, I visited the
mammoth establishment of J. Steininger, the
prince of Bainbridge merchants. Mr. Steiu-
inger’s Flint River Store is the oldest busi
ness establishment in the city, and is the
best conducted business in the town. Just
at this season his store is eliuck full of bran
new fall goods. We saw while there, the finest
and latest styles of nand-made shoes, derby
nd slouch hats, which sell readily in the large
ities for six and four dollars, retailing for
ive and three dollars. Mr. Steininger carries
a larger stock of domestics and dress goods
than many blowing jobbing houses; he buys
in large, quantities than any other merchant
of the town, arc! his enormous run of trade
1 r ives his popularity as a mau and a mer.
chant.
