Hewell Shipp of Cordele was here
Thursday advertising the coming of
Rev. Thomas Dixon at that place on
April 17th. A good many of our people
will probably take advantage of this

Geo. A. King, formely of Monroe
equnty, but who has been on the News
force since last September, left yester-
afternoon for Amerieus, where he
accepted a position with L. A. Mor
gan A Co., in their job printing estab
lishment. We wish him success.
The K. of P. Lodge in this city la in
a very flourishing condition. Several
new applications were received at the
last meeting and there has not been a
single meeting passed since the organ!

was initiated into its ranks.
The citizens of Vienna have been
very kind to Mr.’L. Q. Nobles since
his recent loss^by fire. He has received
nearly 1100. in money and household

Morgan who has been dangerously ill
for several days. Mr. Redding was
formerly a eitisen of Dooly county
having moved to Macon about ten
yean ago.
Every farmer in Dooly county should
raise enough hay to feed hts stock on
until corn gathering time at least. It
can be raised profitable for the market
also, and with little expense. A {rest
many of the farmers of Dooly county
gave it a trial last year and found it to
be profitable, and ake going to increase
their acreage far that purpose this year.
