In Memoriam*
In Memoriam.
The Youngest child of Jno. M. and C.
E. Causey died on Mar 3rd, 1903. The
soul of little Elmer pasted quietly awar,
alter having been confined to his bed
about eleven week* with chronic bron
chills. For sometime it had been known
that hia chancea for recovery were alight,
and the family and friend* devoted
themselves to making Ida last momenta us
comfortable as possible.
More thau once he aeemeir to be conva
lescing. and our hearts wero made glad,
but alas I death has alarmed our door, and
called him to rest in h bright and better
land. For sometime hia greatest desire
was to git well,-but after lingering and
suffering so long, he was made willing to
go. lie was given every possible relief,
and the consequence is that Ids last
moment* were quiet and peaceful. He
was* devoted-and affectionate son, a true
and loving brotuer, kind and clever to his
playmate*, obedient and attentlve'Tn
school, and had many friends among his
relatives and associates. He has left be
hind father and mother, two brother* a-id
two slaters, whose hearts are ovei flowing
with grief. Yet we believe he ha* gone
to a happy reward. He wa» eleven year*
old and was the pride of the family—
idoilacd by every one. How hard it 1* to
give nim up, never to look upon hi*
amiling face again.
Sometime* it seems-that all happiness
is gone, yet we know that the Lord-giveth
and taketh, therefore we submit to the
will of him who dneth all things well. We
will trust in his ifordf believing that all
thing* shall work together for good to
them that love the Lord—to them who are
called according to Hi* purpose. Fare-,
well darling Elmer, we will live trusting
lu the Lord until he calla u* to' meet you
in that bright world where-sorrow comes
no more.
Oh for the peace of a perfect trust,
My loving God, In tuee;
Unwavering faitli that never doubt*.
Thou chootetb beat for me.
Best though my-plant be all upset,
Best though the way be rough *
Best though my eartnlr store be scant.
In Thee I have enough.
O for the peace of a perfect trust,
Though weary days be mine;
Shut out from much that others have.
Not my will Lord, bnt thine.
, His Mother.
On March 36th, 1903 our Heavenly
Father in His infinite love saw fit to take
away the sweet spirit of our cousin, Miss
Rosa Coppedge, and transplanted it in a
a brighter world to dwell with him and
the angel*. She was the only child of
Mr. a^d Mrs. J. J. Coppedgi. She had
been ill for many month* and had suffered
much pain; She is gone but not forgotten.
Only God fully realizes the grief her sad
death brings to her parents hearts as well
e* relatives and friends-. She~was a true
Christian and walked a daily life.
Her death has brought grief to her
school children. Site was a faithful
teacher, striving to do her duty. She
was so good and kind everybody loved
her. Oh! if we could lievr her footsteps
once more, but ft is- herd to realize that
we never will again. Grieve not dear
parents for your child for she Is safe in
the arms of Jesus, and let us remember
this promise. “Believe on the Lord Jesus
Christ and thou shalt be saved and thy
house.” Our hearts do leel so sad, but if
she could speak to us - she would avy r
i “Don’t grieve about me, I am going
home.” ,
Just as her feet touched fhe bank of the
river of death, she- furled- the banner of
the cross and with a shout of the redeemed
she laid down that winch is mortal ' and
whs borne to her everlasting resting place.
Although 'tis hart}- to give her up, we
humbty submit to our Father's wilt and
await the day when we ail shall meet to
part no more.
We miss thy dear sweet face,
Thy smiles we cannot greet;
In that land of heavenly bliss,
We hope that we will meet.
You’rp in heaven with your God.
Where all is bright aud love;
Though youi frame 1* in the sod,
Your soul is in the heaven above.
There was an angel band-in heaven, -
That was not quite complete;
So God took our darling cotnin 1
To fill the vacant seat. '
Through ull pain at times she’d smile,
A smile ol heavenly birth;
A nd when the angels called her home,
She smiled farewell to earth.
By her Cousin,
Molmr Ward.
