County Surveyor R. A.. Murray, ha*

road and moved into it yesterday.

R. E. Kelly, of the Naval Store firm

The attendance in our public schoo
has reached 170. This is a large attend
ance for the fall term and with the
efficient corps of teachers some fine
work is being done.

,T. E. McGougb and wife of Montezn-
ma, spent Monday and Tuesday in the
city with relatives. Their many Dooly
county relatives ar.d friends will be
glad to loam thnt after an absence of
ten years they will become citizens of
Dooly again after this year. They will
live on the Inte Elihu Walton place.

Mr. J. B‘ Watson and wife of near
Pinehurst, were in the city shopping
Monday,and brought along with them
two of the largest nnd finest looking
yellow ytam' potatoes that we have seen
this season, and presented them to the
News office. One weighed 8J4 and the
other 3 pounds. Mr. Watson is one of
the most prominent young fanners in
.that section and is in good circumsaneee
