—Cordele News. 1
Coming on the ttain from Cdr-
dele, the News man fell into coK-
versetion with B. P. Howell 61
Lloyd, and from him learned that
lie had made a most remarkable
record farming on land
that was just taken in out of the
woods this year. He says that
with himself and two boys he has
already gathered 1,200 bushels of
potatoes; harvested seven tons of
hay from one acre nnd sold about
$100 worth of cotton. He snys
that he has sixty head of hogs
and plenty of feed stuff to fatten
them and sugar cane higher than
you car. reach.
Mr. Howell did not have to go
in debt to purchase bis supplies
and feitilizerg and, of course, cun
get the full market price for his
potatoes and hay and will not be
compelled to sacrifice a dollars’
worth.
Mr. Howell said that all it re
quired for him to accomplish this
was to go to the field regularly nnd
waste no time. So. it will be seen
that there is money in farming,
with a determination to make
something.-
