A MAGAZINE THIRTY YEARSjOLD.
The Christmas Number of The Delin
eator Is Also the Thirtieth Anni
versary Number.
To do justice to this number, which
for beauty and utility touches the high
est mark, It would be necessary to print
the entire Hit of contents. It is suffi
cient to state that in it the best modern
writers and artists ore generously rep
resented. The book contains over 230
pages, with 34 full-page illustrations, of
Wbldh 20 are in twoor more colors. The
magnitude of this December number,
for which 728 tons of paper and six tons
of ink have been used, may be under-
atood from the fact that, 01 prerses
running 14 hours a day, have been re
quired to print it; the binding nlotie of
the edition of OI5,OOOcopies represent
ing over 20,000,000 sections which had
to be gathered individually by human
hands.
In Memoriam.
WILL ABOLISH
A’LL HANGINGS.
There wus u blow dealt to the rope
trust and a friendly hand held out
to the linen collar and necktie trust
in the house Wednesday morning.
Representative George Glenn, of
Whitfield, introduced a bill to do
away with capital punishment
This, if it is carried will leave many
necks now claimed by manilu rope
to still wear xollart and neckties.
The following is the text of the
bill as introduced by Mr. Glenn:
"Be it euactcd by the general
assembly of Georgia, and it is here
by euactcd by the authority of the
same, Thut from and after the
the passage of this act nil capital
offenses which are now punished
by death be and the same is
abolished for all offenses except
the crime of rape.”

On September 27th, death invuded
the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Pierce,
of Seville, nnd made sad the hearts of
all by taking one of the brightest
jewels from it, their little daughtev
Ethel.
For three brief years. God gave her to
be with them. Her mission is ended.
Gods purpose is accomplished, and
there is one childish voice less on earth,
one angel more in Heaven. We , are
unable to express the profound sorrow
and sympathy we feel for the bereaved
family, but we can say to them, let us
bow with submission to the wiU of the
Master, remembering if we are faithful
soldiers in the great army of Christ on
earth until the command; "March for
ward to the eternal shore" is given, we
will meet our dear one, and we will all
dwell together around that white
throne where parting shall be no more.
Oh, how sad the thought that we
should be called upon to give her up.
but we will consolo ourselves with the
thought that she is not dead, but gone
a short while before us to that beautiful
abode, where we all hope to meet her
sooner or later.
"Weep not for the youthful dead
Bleeping in tiieir lowly bea;
They are happier than we,
However blest we be."
