Mr. J. H. Rogers, s prominent farmer
living on the widow Peavy place near
Pinehunt. brought some of the largest
and best turnips to the city Saturday
that we have seen this season. They
were of the purple top variety, .and
three of them were presented to the
editor of the News. They weighed
nine pounds and measured 38 inches
from the top of the top to the end of
the root. They were about the best
flavored that we ever ate, and Mr.
has our hearty thanks for his
remembrance.
