The sudden drop in the temperature

J. M. Moye and family moved to the
city Monday from ltichwood, and are
occupying the Kelly residence near the
depot. Mr. Moye will engage in the
mercantile business as soon as a store
room can be erected, the material for
which is being placed on the ground.

A report is out that the Seabord Air
Line has purchased the M. D. & S.
Although the report has been denied,
it is a fact that the latter road accepts
the passes issued by the former for
passage on its line from Vidalia to
Macon.

Mr. W. C. Willis attended the funer
al of Mrs. J. U. Kelly, at Vienna on
Sunday. Mrs. Kelly was a sister of
Mrs. Willis and died on Sunday. She
leaves a luisband and three little chil
dren. Deep sympathy iB felt for the
bereuved family and especially tbe hus
band, who buried ills need mother only
a few days ago. Mrs. Willis was unable
to attend iter sister’s burial on account

The Holman Comedy company made
their lust appearance here on Wednes
day night, presenting “Farmer Allen.’’
In the opinion of many, tiiis was the
best production the company put on
while here. Mr. Holman, tin* head of
the company, is a very clever comedian
and has a fairly goad company. Mr.
Stutzuian, who played the heavy parts
in all the plays presented here is a
first-class uctor in every sense of the
word. His talent is of u very high
order. The company went from here
to Cordele, and front there they will
return north.

loved ones will be remembered and
