I AM CALLED TO HOME MISSION
WORK BECAUSE
1. My Lord commissioned me to
proclaim his gospel of love and sav.
ing power when he said: “Ye shall be
my witness both in Jerusalem, and in
Samaria, and unto the uttermost part
of the earth." Beginning in (Jeru
salem) my own home community and
going out into (Judea and Samaria)
my State and neighboring states

born people are crowding, I am catl-
1 cd to witness for my Lord, ’i am to
, be his hands and his feet; my mind,
my wil, my moneyare to be witnesses
of his divine love and life. He has
dignified my human life by command
ing me, even me, to reveal him in the
crowded ways where sound the crie3
of ruce and strife. Can I be faithless
to touch a trust like this?
2. The religious indifference ol
our masses is s menace to our nation-
'al life. Not a third of the popula
tion of the United States is represent
ed in ou-«evangclical denominations,
white the seating capacities of our
churches is totally inadequate to ac
comodate more than a third Of the
people. The introduction of heathen
religious thought under the guise of
cultural study, side by side with this
indifference to. the gospel truth, is a
challenge to my loyalty to the divine
commission syid my fidelity 'to my
brother and to my national love,

the liquor curse.
(3) 'The evfir-present question of
race proximity and domination in our
Southland where the negro and the
white man live side by side.
(4) The rapid growth of our
cities and their inevitable domination
of state and nation.
(5) The vanishing home life of
America.
(6) The exodus from the farm
to the city.
These bring perils which can only
be averted and controlled by work
ing together with Him to reach the di
vine in the heart of all this mass of
humanity which builds about these
problems.
The school, the cooperative
home, the Wesley house, the church
and the trained worker each has its
own function in building up a Chris
tian nation, even out of these vexing
problem;i. To support these efforts
at saving America is witnessing for
my Lord, and'that is’why I must
work for Home Missions.
5. I am. called to Home Mission
work in order that the power of the
gospel may so possess this nation that
its rays may reach to the “uttermost
parts of the earth.” I must help save
America to save the world.
Why Should IWork For Foroign MU-
•ions?
1. Because of Christ’s command
Go ye therefore, and make disciples
of all the nations.” With this com
mand he gave the promise, “Lo, I am
with you always, even unto the end
of the world.” I| is my duty and
privilege to help carry out this posi-
ive command of my Lord Jesus
Christ. As his professed follower,
one of my first duties in obedience,
and I must heed his command, “to
witness for him even to the utter
most parts of the earth.”
2. Because “God-so loved the
World that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth on him
should not perish, but have eternal
life.” If Christ is the Savior I need,
he is the Savior of all men every
where. “Whosoever shall call upon
the name of the Lord shall be saved.
How then ahall they call on him in
whom they have not believed? and
haw shall they believe in him of
whom they have not believed? and
how shall they believe ia him of
whom they have not heard? and how
shall they hear without a preacher?
and how shall they preach, except
they be aeat?”
8. Because of the Conditions of
womanhood in non-Christian lands,
They are unwelcome at birth, un
taught in childhood, unloved in wife
hood, unprotected in widowhood, un
cared for in old age, unlamented
when dead and without hope of heav-
