that he correctly appraised the politi
cal situation when he decided there
was no necessity for him to resign at
the present time to Mtanch his active
campaign for the United States Sen
ate against Thos. W. Hardwick.
Mr. Harris will continue his duties
as chairman of the Federal Trade
Commission in Washington and will
devote his entire attention to a num
ber of important matters before the
body in connection with the nation's
plans for winning the war. He will
let the political situatio take care of
itself for the present, being entirely
