WAS VICTIM OF PNEUMONIA, RE.
MAINS BROUGHT TO VIENNA
FOR BURIAL.
Mr. Bobbie Lee Keene’s funeral
from the Methodist church at Shiloh
Friday was attended by a large con
course of friends and relatives. He
was the only son of ' Mr. Perry D.
Keene of this county. He was a
young man of splendid qualities, be
ing a member of the Baptist church at
Richwood and much beloved by ail
who knew him. ‘ He leaves one sister,
Mrs. Fate Glenn of Grovanla and nu
merous o^her relatives and friends
to mourn his going.
He had been in the army only three
months at the time of his death. He
never had the opportunity of fighting
on the European battle fields, but his
comrade, Millard W. Morgen, who fol
lowed him to his last resting place
stated that a truer, nobler soldier nev
er died in the service of his country
than Bobbie was.
At the time of his death he was
stationed at Camp Gordon, Atlanta,
Ga., and was sick only a 'few days,
death following a short period of in
tense suffering. His remains were
shipped to Vienna, the home of his
youth Thursday night, and laid to
rest in the cemetery at Shiloh. The
minister officiating at the grave was
Rev. Greer.
The floral offerings were profuse.
