to civil life. It is the duty of every
person to interest themselves in these
young fellows and if they can give
them any assistance do so cheerfully.
They can at least be given a very
cordial welcome home, a hearty hdnd-
shake and some cheery word of greet
ing. It matters not whether you are
acquainted with each ontf or not they
will be sure to appreciate any cour
tesy shown them and will accept it in
the spirit in which it is given.

ANSWER THE CALL
This week over the United States a
individual who will not give it?
campaign for increasing the member
ship of the American Red Cross is in
progress. For some good reason this
campaign has'been designated the
Christmas Roll Call of the Red Cross.
The name is quite appropriate, for
every person should already be a
member of this great organizatioa,
and each one should be ready to' re
spond to this call which has more to
commend it to the liberality of the
people than any appeal that is now
before them. It is unquestionably the
best dollar investment that can he
made. A heart and a-dollar are all
that is necessary to become a share
holder in this great enterprise that is
operated for the one great and high
purpose—the relief of-suffering hu
manity.
