On Monday evening, at the resi dence about six miles from town, Miss Joanna McKinnon, daughter of Mrs. M. D. McKinnon, died quite suddenly. She had eaten dinner as usual and retired to her room to lie down, and was shortly afterwards found dead. She was a most estimable young lady and her loss will be greatly deplored by her many relatives and friends. On arriving here they were turned over to Keeper Turner, who oauic this far after them. The convicted men were Krauk King, convicted of horse stealing and burg lary—20 years; Charles Woolfolk, a bright mulatto who hails from Macon, convicted ofsimilar offenses—15 years; Sherman Gains, convicted of forgery and stubbing—1 years, nnd Charles Jacksou, convicted of manslaughter, sentenced to fifteen years. Savannah, Cfn., May 26.—News comes that the civil engineers and those of the Suvnuuah, Americus and Montgomery, collided in the upper nart of Tattnall county two or three days ago. The Centra! corps started out ten days ago to locate the Eden extension west towards Eastman. Colonel Hawkins has had a corps in the woods for three weeks running a line from McRae to (Savannah. To the surprise of both parties they rnn plum against each other this week. The Central men were surprised to find their rivals so far north. No blood was shed, and each party went on its wav. He can pasture twenty acres, use twenty for soiling, tweuty for hay and, twenty for ensilage. He can hire all labor needed for ?500_and buy sixty tous of feed for 8720. Good cows, well fed, will average 250 pounds of butter each, or 15,COO for the sixty. He can sell his butter at twenty- five cents per pound or 83,750.
