Commercial Traveler, “Mr. President, I would like to place this hoy of mine in college.” “Yes; what degree of efficiency has lie attained? Is lie prepared to enter an institution so high as this in the educational world?” “Prepared! I should say lie was. Why, sir, he is captain of our base hall nine, pulls the stroke-oar in our homo boat club, and as for football —” “That will do, sir; I am most, grati fied to receive him. He has a bril liant future before him, sir. lie will graduate with honors, I predict, sir, and he. a credit to himself and ids alma mater.” A Legendary Stone. From the Xoiv York Press. About two years ago a legendary stone was unearthed, a short distance from Adiens, at an ancient college called Jerusalem. The stone is be lieved lo have come from the last- mentioned town, and to have served as a resting place for Christ when he talked to his deciples. It has been too sacred a relic, up to the present time, to have an appropriate use, but it served as the table of benediction at the marriage ceremony. Every one may not be aware that in Greek marriages, bride and bride groom wear a wreath of orange flow ers. The two wreaths are united by a long, streaming white ribbon, and are transferred alternately from the head of the bride to that of the bridegroom. When the last change has taken place, the newly married pair, the archbishop officiating, priests, best man and wed ding guests execute a solemn proces sion around the altar, or rather around the sacred table, before which the ceremony has been consecrated. The forty choristers—there is no organ in a Greek cathedral—chant a trium phant anthem, and so the marriage service terminates. Florida Trunk Line. FLORIDA CENTRAL & 1 Peninsular R. R.
