This charming farce comedy will be on the hoards at the opera house to-night, presented by the Mortimer Comedy Company, which is one of unusual merit. T he New Orleans Picayune, of Nov. 8th, says: The Mortimer Comedy Company appeared at the Grand Opera House last night before an audience only limited by the capacity <ef the house, as the “standing room only” sign was displayed. “Larking” is a farce writ ten solely for laughter-producing pur poses, and as such is a most pronounc ed success. The world is very properly more given to laughing than crying, and if you would enjoy a good iaugh, that will leave no regrets, go out to see “Larking” to-night. Secure your seats early this morn ing. The managcqnent of the opera house has very kiudly reduced the prices to 50 aud 75 cents for the dress and parquet cirles The County Commissioners Meeting. This is a move in the right direc lion/ -Gone to Conference. Iter. G. G. N. MacDoncll left yesterday morning to attend the regu lar aunual meeting of the South Geor gia Conference, which convenes in Americus. Mr. MacDotiell’s charge in Thomasville would be glad to have him returned for another year. Ho Peppered Three of Them. Every boy, white or black, likes to bang away at a rabbit, when he has a gun, and when cotton-tail goes scam pering off. A negro hoy on Mr. Jo McCollums place, fourteen miles from town, was out on Wednesday with a cheap shot gun, liberally loaded with bird shot, looking for game. When a rabbit jumped up, visions of a rabbit stew rose before him, and he banged away at the animal. He did not hit the rabbit, but lie divided a handfull of shot about equally be tween three negroes who happened to he iu range. The rabbit was doult- less surprised at being shot at, hut it is fair to assume that the negroes were more surprised at being hit. They hopped around, howled and swore, felt for the shot and culled the unskilled marksman, who appeared to he more grieved at the lossot the rab bit stew, than ou account of sending the bird shot into his companions. The rabbit has not been seen or hoard from since, hut the unfortunate victims have been picking out bird shot at intervals for the past twenty- four hours. No serious damage will result from the accident. If you would enjoy a hearty laugh, go to the opera house to-night. Mr. Fred W. Sutton, auditor of Elgin, Joliet and Eastern ;Ry., and brother, have arrived from Chicago and purpose spending the winter in Thomasville. A Called Meeting.
