The grand jury are representative
men of the county, and have no doubt
the good of both the county and
towns at heart. The good and pros
perity of the county will not, nor
should not, be lost sight of; and the
growth and prosperity of the towns,
whether it is Boston, Cairo, Metcalfe,
Ochlockonec, or Thomasville, should,
also, have the fostering care of the
county’s legislators. Build up the
country and you build up the towns:
build up the towns and you build up
the country.
There should be no antagonism,
what benefits and builds up one, bene
fits and builds up the other. We are

A Drummer’s Opinion.
Mr. A. S, Silverberg, who was for a

Thomasville is the place.

Barnum’s latest idea is to secure
the mummies of Ramcscs II. and his
fair daughter who succored Moses.
These articles are now in the museum
of Boulak, and $20,000 has been bid
for them. The khedivfi is at present
the proprietor of these treasures, and
might, for a consideration, permit
them to depart for the United States,
where they would create a greater
sensation than they do in their pres
ent abiding place. How fertile, how
widely sweeping, are Mr. Barnum’s
ideas!
