Council met in regular session, Mayor Hopkins presiding. Aldermen Wright, Hayes, Merrill, Mitchell, Patten and Wise present. Minutes last meeting read and con firmed. Aid. Mitchell of the water commit tee, reported that the water main pe titioned for on Jefferson street, would cost 8394.75, and the pipe to Mrs. Pittman’s would cost 838.66, and he recommended that the work be done. On motion, the pipe was ordered placed in Madison street instead of Jefferson street. On motion of Aid. Mitchell the water tariff 1 was chaoged to read 829 for Bakery with Soda Fountain. On motion of Aid. Merrill the matter of imposing a fine for furnish ing water to people who might have connections was postponed for action to next meeting. Application of Piney Woods Hotel for hydrant on Dawson street was re ferred to water committee for report at next meeting. Chairman of cemetery committee was authorized to put well in Laurel Hill Cemetery, The committee with the County chain gang cr to act. Mayor and c tee authorized to wi On motion Aid. Patten, city was authorized to contract with the^Thona- nsville Electric Light and Power Com pany, for eight incandescent lights for Fletcberville, and one arc light to be placed at the Masury Hotel, and one arc light at the intersection of Jack- son street and Stevens street, on same terms as tho other lights contracted for.
