A new board of offi cers will be elected, and the report of the business of the past year will be submitted. The success and prosper ity of the company 1 as been very gratifying, as will appear by the pub lished report which will bo forthcom ing within the next few days. Besides profitable to the stockhold ers, the company has been of great service to home seekers, by aftbrding them an opportunity for securing their own fireside. It is needless to say that the affairs of the R. E. and f. Co., have been well managed. Let It Come. The rains of the first of the week wore hadlv needed and was worth thousands of dollars to the crops, &c., but. besides doing good it did some harm. It washed up the city streets, laid bare water and gas pipes in pla ces and damaged the street railway a great deal. Manager Bennett is not the one to get discouraged, however, he went right to work and repaired the washes and will soon have finish ed all the work pertaining to his road, and then be ready to enter into an ar rangement to build the road to Thorn- asvillc. If lie can get the help of Leon's citizen’s the T. A T. road will bn built. He pushed the waterworks and Tallahassee railway through in a hurry, and will be the man to connect us with our sister city of Georgia.— Tallahassean. Manager Bennett appears to be a bustler. Thomasville and Tallahas see, already hound together by strong tics ot friendship, should be linked to gether by bars of steel. It would be a boon, as well as a boom, for both towns. Wo have an ubiding faith that this road will lie built. Out of the World. Sheriff George W. Swindle, of Ca milla, was surprised Sunday morning on going into the the cell occupied by Arthur Mills, colored, to find his pris oner cold in death. A bottle cfpoison lying near by explained how Mills had escaped from this world. A short while ago Mills life ran oil with another man to Athens. The angry husband followed the fleeing pair, and demanded that his wife return home Dr. \V. I 1 ’. Robinson, of Iamonia, was in the city yesterday, shaking hands with his friends and receiving congratulations in advance over an im portant event that will transpire in the near future. Take Notice.
