AN INTERESTING LETTER
From James Island—Indulging
In Reminiscenses—Sea
Breeze and Good
Fare.
St. Teresa, James Island, Fla.
John Trijtldt, Editor Time* En
torpriw:
As 1 scat myself iu n comfortable
rocking clmir on the piazza of our
cottage ami look out ovir the waters
of the Gulf, I am reminded of the
trip you and I, with other friends, took
some years ago—how many you and
I do not care to he reminded, as it
might make tis feel old. Unless I
am mistaken, I am writing from a
point not over one hundred feet from
whore we pitched that big tent you
borrowed, and which we all lmd to
hold on to that first night to keep it
from blowing away. And that re
minds me that although the trip from
Thomnsville, here is soincwhnt long
now, it is a tremendous improvement
on the one we took that wound up
on the night above alluded to alter
six days. Now we make it in kss
than two, and most of both days con
sumed in stoppages. These delays
would have been not unpleasant, but
for the rain which followed us all the
way to Tallahassee. Leaving Thomat-
ville at 7.55 a. m., we stayed three
hours in Monticello, and then from 2
p. m. till 8.30 p. ra. in Tallahassee.
This our party enjoye 1, because we
fortunately were directed to go to Miss
Annie- Chaires’ house, where she and
her sisters entertained with so much
geuuiuc hospitality that >re all felt
as if we were parting front friends
when wo started lor St. Marks. The
trip of twenty miles to St. Marks was
not tedious or unpleasant, though
rather slow, and the trip from St.
Marks here was voted “just glorious’’
. by the whole party, except Mary, (T.
C’.’s colored nurse) who remaked ns
we got out in the bay, “Fore God
dis de biggis pond I ever seed since
God made me,” and again, when wc
had been running some time,inquircd,
“ain’t wc inos’ to do edge of his pon’
yet.”
Cnpt. Slusser’s steamer, which meets
the trains on Tuesday’s and Satur
day’s regularly, is a first class boat,
and much better equipped for carry
ing passengers than we expected.
As none of our party were sea-sick,
they all were ravenously hungry, and
awaited the hour for supper with
great impatience, but were amply
repaid for wniting, as Mrs. E. W.
Gamble, with whom wc arc boarding,
feeds splendidly and appreciates the,
fact that everything here tends to
give even the most delicate ladies
very hearty appetites. The effects of
the salt air, salt baths and sea breezes
are already perceptible upon our
party, though wo have not been here
twenty-four hours. Now ns to the place,
the houses nrc rough, one story cottages
placed in a row along the blufls, the
only exceptions being the three story
.Ar... s wi«m hotel now nearly completed, which
Mrs. Lamb will run as soon as it js
finished. .In the meantime, Mrs.
Lamb is taking boarders iu the cot
tages. The people hero spend the
time in boating, bathing, crabbing
and fishing, but if you feel lazy you
have only to sit on the porch and
enjoy the cool refreshing breeze just
off the sparkling waters of the Gulf,
and think of the hot sweltermgs days
of the lost too weeks, and we feel too
happy to care whether we do anything
else or not, and feel regret only when
wc think this cannot last always.
Everybody here is cordial and po
lite, and ready to do auytliing to
make the time pas3 pleasantly. Our
party was treated to a sweet sere
nade by a party of gentlemen last
night. We are indebted to the pres
ence of the young ladies for this as
it was intended specially for them
but we all enjoyed it very much, and
one of the ladies said she started to get
up and set out the wine-, but remem
bered that the wine was nt home. In
addition to the health giving powers
of sea-water, and sea air, one of the
pleasantest features of this life is the
freedom from all the restraints of
society life. There is no such thing
known as dressing up here. It is
regular “go as you please” for every
body and all hands enjoy it immense
ly. If we only had that rail road to
Tallahassee, or better still, to C’arra-
belle, this would be a most popular
resort for Thomasville people. As it
is tho trip is not a very troublesome
one, nor expensive either. The faer
from Thomasville to St. Marks is
83.35, and 82 for the boat trip. The
delay in Tallahassee causes some
additional expense, but not a great
deal, and you board at 830 with Mrs.
Gamble. I understand tbnt Mrs,
Lamb’s rates will bo lower, but do not
know. This is enough for one letter
nnd I must close.
Yours Truly.

Blood Disease.
Blood diseases are terrible on ac
count of their loathsome nature, and
the fact that they wreck the constitu
tion so completely unless the proper
antidote is applied. B. B. B. (Botan
ic Blood Balm) is composed of the
true ontidotc for blood poison. Its
use never fails to give satisfaction.
Mrs. Laura Hart, Beaufort, 8. C.,
writes: “A loathsome form of blood
poison was killing me. My appetr-te
was lost, my bones ached, nnd parts
of my flesh seemed as if it would come
oil ray bones. A friend brought mo,
a bottle of B. B. B. The sores began
healing at once, and whera I bad
taken two bottles I was surprised
atmv rapid recovery.”
W. A. Bryant. Moody, Texas,
writes: “I had an agonizing case of
Salt Rheum tor four years, which
medicine I took only seemed to ag
gravate until T found B. B. B. It
cured my band, which rcsem blcs a
burnt surface. It also cured m y two
children of itch, which had it listed
