Alabama Midland trains arrive and depait
from union depot Montgomery.
Maiden Mil lei, G. F. k 1*. A.
B, Dunham, Montgomery, Ain,
GcA. Supt.
Now that the heft of the melon sea
son is over the mail trains are again
on time, greatly to the joy of the
traveling public.
The Troy Laundry is crowded with
work lo its utmost capacity. Manager
Henderson has every reason to con
gratulate himself.
Mrs. C. I. LaRochc and family left
yesterday le»r Savannah. After spend
ing a lew days there, they will go t>
Maryland for the rest of the season.
Mrs. 8. L. llnycs has gone to visit
friends in Eufauln, Alabama. Sho
was accompanied by Miss Moselle
Hayes,'’who has been spending some
time here.
Mrs. W. 8. Keeler nnd sons leave
this morning for Tallulah Falls,where
they will spend a month. They will
be the guests of the Cliff House dur
ing their stay. x
Drummers were never so plentifnl
before ; besides the regular commer
cial men, there are commission house
representatives and buyers almost
without number.
Now that the town is going to sup
port the two candidates irorn the
eouutry, let our country friends show
that they arc tvilliug to tote fair, by
supporting Boh Mitchell.
Certainly the county should be
satisfied with two men. Bob Mitch-
•ell has always been true as steel to
the people of his couuty, and wc be
lieve they will support him.
A pleasaut party was given at the
residence of Dr. J. T. Culpepper
Tuesday evening, in honor of Miss
Brtiee Underwood, of Camilla, who
has been visiting Miss Julia Evans.
Pears are going forward with a rush.
Number 6 lor Savannah, now carries
two express cars to accomodate the
rush. Prices arc a little off in New
York.but arc holding up well elsewhere.
Mr. It. W. Glading left Tuesday
for the melon belt along the Central
it G. 8. & F., to look after shipments
via the Motion Route. He will he
absent from the city several days.
Thomasvillc never sent off as many
people to spend the sumnie* before.
Almost every day some one leaves for
a cool retreat liy sianbore or moun
tains. May pleasant breezes visit
each one of them nnd n pleasaut home
comiug await their safe returrj
Sometimes as the reporter goeth
homewatd, long after the rest of the
world is wrapped in the arms of mor-
phous, lie encounterelli odors that are
everything but pleasant.
The point of this paragraph is, that
the health of the city requires every
thing that could prove detrimental to
should be watched with unceasing
vigilance.
Another Letter From St. Teresa.
St. Teresa, )
July 14th, 1890. $.
Times-Enterprise :
Perhaps a description of the way in
which our “gang” passed one day
would be the best means of giving
your readers an idea of what this
place affords in the way of entertain
ment for those who visit it.
At 5 o’clock this morning Mr.
Gamble came down and awakened
William H. and myself. Hurriedly
slipping into our fishing clothes we
took down our rods and reels and re
ported at tho dining room, where,
through the kindness of Mrs. Gamble,
who is a model hostess, we found
hot coffee and biscuits and 1mm await
ing us at even that unearthly early
hoar. This dispatched, we, that is
John 8., William H., Mr. Gamble
and “ye writer” hereof, soon found
ourselves aboad the “Little G.” with
a supply of tackle and bait, and a
fair but light wind. In half an hour
we reached the place, nnd having cast
“our anchor to windward,” were soon
listening to the whir-r-r-r of tho reel,
and the swish swash of the line
through the water so dear to the
heart of the fisherman. We scarcely
get our hooks in the water before
under goes the cork. We do not
catch a good fish or any fish nt all
every time something sinks the cork,
for if wo did our boat would not be
able to hold what we could catch in
one hour. Sometimes we find we
linve rejoiced too soon, it is “only a
cat,” and we fear that the thoughts
are not clothed in first-class Sunday
school language ns the offended is
hauled up, and a knife driven into
his head where the brain ought to
be, while tho hook is taken out of his
mouth, and he thrown back to die.
Then again, it is shark. If the latter
happe ns to be tolerably small, he
affords as fine sport ns one can wish,
and fairly makes the water foam, the
line sing and the reel hum, as he darts
hither and thither, almost as swiff ns
the lightning Hash, until he breaks
away, carrying hook and lead, if no
more, with him, or tired out turns up
his side and floats gently aloug-side
but if too large, like one W. H. hung,
ho simply snaps tho line near the pole
and is gone before you can realize
what has struck you. About two
hours of this and wc up anchor nnd
head for the wharf, after taking over
60 good eating fish, to say nothing of
cats and others not deemed worthy
to he put in the boat. At 10:20 a. m
we arc ngain seated at the table to
finish tlmt breakfast wc commenced
to eat nt 5 o’clock. After a few min
utes for a smoke, we summon the
ladies nnd “T. C.,’’ and the tide being
just right, we don our bnthjng suits
and plunge into the water, which is
“just splendid.” Wc linger on here
loath to leave such a delightfully
cool and refreshing bnth, but at last
we are back nt “the cottage,”nnd after
getting into dry suits, we sample a
watermelon, raised nt “Tuckers,” and
turn in to make up for the sleep we
did not get eirlier in the day. It
scarcely seems a minute since wc
stretched our weary bodies on the bed
when some one says "get up, it’s din
ner time.” And such a dinner! Turtle
soup, as find as anybody ever tas!cd ;
fish fried and baked, roast beef, rice,
tomatoes, potatoes, Irish and sweet,
bread nnd various "entrees,’’all splen
didly cooked and elegantly served
and then we all have appetites that
would make us do justice to even the
plainest fare.
After dinner we again take a rest,
and nntusc and entertain ourselves in
various wags until the tide suits for
“crabbing.” Then donning bathing
suits again nnd arming themselves
with crab nets, ladies ami gentlemen
go ncross to the sand spit, and soon
they begin to pick up the long clawed
Crustacea, the first intimation that a
lady has found one being a shrill
“h c e-ere’s one ; this lasts until the
sun sinks into the sen, when the boats
loaded, and we return to prepare for
supper, which is on a par with tho
dinner, and fully ns much appreciated,
An hour or two for social converse,
games and music, then another “dip,”
and we turn in to enjoy the sweetest
of sleep. No mosquitoes or sand flies
to disturb you, ami a delightful breeze
to keep vou cool so that you awake
fresh and strong, not lanquid and
tired, ready folVauother day’s pleas
ure.
I cannot close this without express
ing our thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Gam
ble. Every ono we have met hire
has been very kind, but Mr. Gamble
has devoted himself to making it
pleasant for tho gentlemen of the
party, while ns a hostess, Mrs. Gam
ble cannot be surpassed, and has very
few equals anvwhere.

Worth for Turner.
Sumner, Ga„ July 15.—Congress
man Turner addressed the citizens of
Worth county at this place Monday,
He thoroughly convinced his hearers
as lo the soundness of his position on
all leading questions, and was applaud
ed roundly by the large and enthusias
tic audience. Without a dissenting
voice the assembly endorsed him for
renomination. The motion to endorse
him was made by the president of
Worth county alliance.
Susan B. Anthony, the great ad
vocate of woman suffrage, is going to
gather up her skirts and betake her
self to the new state of Wyoming,
where woman suffrage blooms perpet*
ually. Susan has her eye on the U. S,
senate. Senator Susan B. Anthony
with its alliterative twang, would sound
well. We should be glad to see the
old gal pitted agiinst granny Hoar,

question.
Going With a Rush.
The pear shipments are still heavy,
and they are nearly all going to New
York. Number 6, the night train, now
takes two express cars regularly,
to carry the pear shipments. It might
be better to divert some of the ship
ments to other markets, but as stated
elsewhere, the means arc much better
than the facilities for reaching other
markets.

Blood Disease.
Blood diseases are terrible on ac
count of their loathsome nature, nnd
the fact that they wreck the constitu
tion so completely unless the proper
antidote is applied. B. B. B. (Botan
ic Blood Balm) is composed of the
truo antidote for blood poison. Its
use never fails to give satisfaction.
Mrs. Laura Hart, Beaufort, S. C.,
writes: “A loathsome form of blood
poison was killing me. My appetite
was lost, my bones ached, and parts
of my flesh seemed as if it would come
off my bones. A friend brought me
a bottle of B. B. B. The sores began
healing at onto, and when I Had
taken two bottles I was surprised
at my rapid recovery.”
W. A. Bryant. Moody, Texas,
writes: “I had an agonizing case of
Salt Rheum for four years, which
medicine I took only seemed to ag
gravate until I found B. B. B. It
cured my band, which resembles a
burnt surface. It also cured my two
children of itch, which had resisted
previous treatment.”
