Livingston to the Front.
The Atlanta correspondent of the
Brmi'wiek Tiimw, writes to that jour
mil an follows:
Au investigation of the munition
regarding the contest foi United
State Senator leads to the disclosure
of the following facts:
‘‘Unless Governor Gordon and his
friends can place Colonel L. F. I.iv 1
ingston’s record before the people in
such a light as will show it up just as
it is, Governor (Jordon will not be
elected Senator, but Colonel Liv
ingston certainly will he.
‘ The Farmers’ Alliance loaders, to
gether with some outside friends of
Colonel Livingston, have held
meeting nnd determined upon the
following course:
“Colonel Norwood, and perhaps one
or two others, are to be kept before
the people as probable opponents of
Governor Gordon.
“In the meantime Governor Gor
don’s real opponent is Colonel Liv-
igston. When the General Assembly
meets and it is too late to get Colonel
Livingston’s record lully before the
public, he is to be announced as a
candidate for Senator, and it is hoped
by his backers that he will be elected
with a whoop and hurrah.
“All this is from the inside, and it
is strictly true.”
