A School of Cookery.
Newnan, Oct. n.—Prof. L. H,
Ford, principal of the Newnan public
schools, delivered a highly insiruc ive
and entertaining lecture last night on
‘‘Our Homes and What They Cost
Us.” The object of the lecture as
stated by Prof. Ford, was to “formu
late plans for organizing a school ol
cooking and domestic economy."
His plan of grappling with the “ser
vant question" is to employ a teacher
of coo'.-ing to come to Newnan and
teach the ladies how to do their own
cooking. This will enable them to
go in the kitchen in an emergency
and to that extent render them tnde
pendent of the “colored lady.” Mr,
Ford is now in correspondence with
a teacher of the culinary art, and he
hopes to be able to get tl.c ladies
Newnan to form a class.
