I consider the alliance the only way by which the farming class ot people may ever come to the front. The only way is that they must stick together in all matters pertain ing to the organization. The alliance can rule if she will, but if she don watch, and prove herself more consoli dated on business matters, she may look for some disaster. Come to one mind and carry your points. As Geo. Washington said, “United we stand divided we fall.” Be sure when you step that your footing is sure, and that your feet get not entangled in a snare. Beware that there are men who are looking forward to the time when they may tear down our order, and in its place set up some other form, which will prove destructive to the farmer. Though I am a very young man in the cause to be advising, aud predicting for older heads, I see that some step ought to be taken to throw the order on its guard. Not that there has been anything done against our cause, but that there might be. The way to rule is to all consolidate on men of the al liance for her representatives, and elect them at all hazards. The anti-alliancemeo throughout the Union are aware that if the organ ization stands consolidated for nwbile that she will rule the law making pow er, and justice will be given |o the mini who needs it. When the anti alliance men bring out their candi dates don’t vote for them but simply say by your transaction that they are not the men for the office; and up hold your own men in the elections, and be sure the voters understand the registration law, and everything that may be gotten up to carry other points that isn’t in our favor. Every allianceman should throw his shoulder to the wheel and all pull together, or it can’t resist against tbo mighty strug gle that awaits her in the near future, I say with reverence to all men, that any allianceman who gives his vote to some other man besides one of bis own candidates, that, he is not r True alii? anccman, and doesn’t dcservo to be long to. the order. Though the candidate nu the other side may be a competent man and worthy of the houor which awaits the candidate, it doesu’t become an /illi- ancemau to lend him a helping hand. Elect yonr own men,‘and if by so do ing you make a bad trade, stick the tighter to it, and not make a song of it, but work the harder for a better one or your own crew. Every time an allianceman gives his vote to sorao other man, he weakens the cause of the alliance, by casting insinuations that it is not what it ought to he. W. L. Massey.
