Yesterday was another cool and
pleasant day.
Mr. G. R. McCall, of Macon, was
in the city yesterday.
Mr. F. C. Coles, ot Coleridge, / la ,
was in the city yesterday, stopping at
the Gull.
Mr. S. A. Jones store on Jackson
street, is being neatly repainted and
otherwise improved.
A party of shooters went out after
quail yesterday morning. The returns
have not at yet been announced.
Mr. John S, Culpepper, who at one
lime contemplated quitting the race
for Tax Receiver of Ihe county, informs
u i that he is still in Ihe race.
The magnificent stock ot goods
being carried by the merchants of
Thomasville is attracting attention
far and wide. And these same mer
chants are selling at prices which dety
competition.
Mr. M. M. Wanton, of Moultrie,
was in the city yesterday. He says
that work on the G. S. & F. Ry. which
is progressing three miles from Moul
trie, is getting along finely and that
place is enjoying almost a boom.
Mr. Walter 8. Moss, advance rep
resentative of W. H. Power’s Fairies’
Well, was in the city yesterday, mak
ing arrangements for the appear*
ance of his company here on Thurs
day night, Oct. 23.
Thomasville and Thoihas Coun
ty Real Estate.
Under the head of ‘-Southern Farm
Mortgages,” the Financial News, pub
lished at Denver, Colorado, says:
“There is a business trait belonging
in the Southern States rarely found in
the West, that of steadiness in habit,
and a lesser tendency in the direction
of booms, which has always been more
or less associated with Western towns
This difference is natural enough
when the age of two settlements is re
merobered. In itsel-, however, this
difference in method has an important
bearing upon real estate mortgages in
general, which ihe fact obliges iis to
confess are greatly in favor of die
South.
Certain parts of the South to-day
arc growing at a prodigious rate, and
that particular method of making mon
ey through buying and selling real es,
tate is in “full blast.” ‘
Around Thomasville, Georgia, for in
stance, there is probably ns rapid and
large an increase in real estate values
going on to-day as in any section .of
the country. And the steadiness and
merit of this rise, is no inconsiderable
feature in itself. Mortgages on that
property are as good as New York
City’s, and for tho;e who appreciate
the healthy growth of a valuable sec
tion of tenitory that has but partly de
veloped its resources, are even better.”
So, away out in Colorado, the thrift,
progress and stability ot the people of
Thomasville and Thomas county are
recognized. This is the coming sec
tion of the state. We have as fine a
climate as Italy, a soil fairly productive,
yellow pine timber iunlimited quanti
ties, and a law abiding, conservative
liberal set of people. In no section
of the state, or south, are more sub
stantial and remunerative enducemeots
held out td'investors.
Come South; come to Georgia;
come to Thomas county; come to
KNOX’S NEW YORK HAT’S.

••Oh, thcy’rc all well except Mother, she’s
about the sapne. Poor Mother, worn out by
household cares, exposure and overwork.
No wonder sho gives up at last and takes to
her bed. But oh! how much brighter the
family fireside would be if mother’s chair
was not vacant. The Doctor's don’t seem to

medicine don’t seem to go to the spot. She
feels so weak and longs for strength. “Oh I
give me strength," sho murmurs. Why not
give her tho remedy her system craves?
Her impoverished blood and shattered nerves

contained in B, B. B- (Botanic Blood Balm).
Then try a bottle of tnis excellent remedy.
It is truly woman’s best friend. It quickly
relieves pain and restores health, strength
and tunctional regularity.
James W. Lancaster, Hawkinsville, Ga.,

more different patent medicines bad done
her no good. Six bottles of B. B. B. has
cured her.”
