Agent VauDyke received a tglp- gram Wednesday night a few mo ments before the night passenger train left for Savannah, saying that Bar- nura and Bniley’e pjrpus would not show in Savannah on account «f flip wrecking of one section of the circus train on the Macon and Cov ington road Wednesday. Mr. \ an- Dyke entered the coach and read the telegram to the waiting passengers, and 1 offered to refund the amount paid for the excursion tipkpts if they de sired. Quite a mjmbpr were disap pointed, but in most instances all de cided to take advantage of the cheap rata, and ninkc the visit to Savannah anyhow. The Largest Tree in Paradise Park. The largest and probably the oldest tree in Paradise Park fell Wednesday. The roots were unsuflicicnt to uphold the tremendous weight of the tree. It is a little queer that after success fully battling with the elements, and many a storm, the tree should fall when there was hardly a breath of wind to stir through the tree tops.
