King and wile, of Atlanta, were in town yesterday, stopping at the Stuart. Mr. J. C. McDonald and the Misses McDonald, of Novt Scotia, are at the Clarendon. Fruits are now coming in lively, but most of the Florida oranges are quite green. The crop is said to be a large one. Space permits us to go into details, but just try us. Oliver Stanton, representing Amy Lee in the clipper, was in the city yesterday, advertising the appear ance of the star next Wednesday night. The streets presented a busy, bust* ling appearance yesterday. Very iitlle cotton comes in now. The scasoD will shortly be over. The farmers are busy grinding cane, and do not find so much time to came in town. ‘CLEVELAND PARK.” Beautiful Flowers—A Gem Set in the Piney Woods. most magnificent display of the queen ly rose. Then we came to the dainty “Caroline Custer,” “Paul Neyron,” “Bride Rose,” Jacqueminot," “Mal- maison,” and many other varieties, all in full bloom and shedding their sweetness all around. The very air was fragrant and heavy with the scent of the roses. One of the most attract ive features of the grounds is tho beautiful Chinese Arborvitte hedge, which is seen on tho right as you enter the grounds. ~Tho Texas blue grass, whioh car pets several acres, looks green and fresh. In the spacious grounds are included vegetable patches and large number of fruit trees. Mr. Nor wood is successfully growing sweet potatoes, strawberries, English peas and a great variety of other vegeta bles. In fruits we noticed tho thrifty, vigorous LeConte, Japanese plums, Keifier pears, peaches, apples, apricots, &c., Ac. The grounds have been made very rich and everything is growing to perfection. No place in tho county has beoii so handsomely improved. It 13 a veritable gem set in the midst of a vast pine forest Mr. Sanford takes special pride in the appearance of the grounds, ns he furnished the flowers and shrubbery with which they are filled. Mr. Nor wood, who lias charge of the place, gives it liis careful and undivided at tention. And he certainly has it in shape to more than please Mr. and Mrs. Masury when they come South this winter. They will find a place perfect in all of its appointments, a pleasant sunny retreat from the rigors of a Northern climate. Cleveland Park, in ehort, is a per fect gein. NOTICE.
