Iladdix, Nimrod Moore, A J Andrews, J D Carroll Richard B Fleetwood, M A Humphries, E HcethjP S Hansel!, C P Paine, T S Patten, A Thompson, C 11 Paradise Park was alive with peo ple out for a walk, Sunday afternoon Thoraasville is ready to welcome all visitors to the stock show, &c, on for a few days, the guest of Mits Em ma McIntosh. Miss Johnson has large aud devoted circle of friends in Thoraasville who are always delighted to see her here. After two oi three weeks of cool weather, wo are having warmer day.- yesterday was especially bo. It was more like aMay or Juno day than the usual bleak weather experienced in November. The many predictions of rain have failed. A largo gang of Iramp peddlers have been in the city for several days, and the police has paid them close at tention. Several ot them have put up at cheap boarding houses nnd oc casionally jump their hoard hills The cold weather has caused the annual winter emigration of these gentry to seek a wai mer climate than the cold North. Speaking of Amy Lee, the New- Orleans Times-Democrat says: “Tho Clipper” is an interesting musical drama in four acts, aud its first presentation was clearly success ful. Miss Lee proved herself to be a clever soubrettc, and at once won the favor of the audience. In addition to her ability as an ac tress, Miss Lee sings sweetly nud dun ces gracefully. The company, cos tuming and stage settings are good, and as a whole the play is one of tho best seen at the opera house thin sea son.” Remember that Miss Lee plays for the benefit of the Hussars to morrow night. Miss Amy Lee, a gifted and talent ed young artiste, will appear at the Opera House to-morrow night in her new musical comedy drama, “The Clipper.” Miss Lee is a graceful dan cer and the possessor of a sweet, mel odious voice which she turns to the best "advantage in s.nging new songs during the actum of the play. The play is a strong one, dealing as it does, of a young git! thrown upon her own re sources, and among associates who are prey upon mankind, and still retain ing her most, excellent qualities. Du ring all her trials she stands as an ob ject lesson in human nature, shielding the one 6he loves to her |o vn detri ment and making the greatest of sacri fices in theii' favor, there is a suc cession of stirring scenes, and strong climaxes, keeping the audience thof oughl interested. The dialogue is crisp j na ’ bright, and the comedy pure and wholesome. The cast in support is a strong one and does full justice to the roles assigned to them. In the Police Court. Mayor Hopkins held police court yesterday morning for the first time in soveral days. Robert Wilson ww fined -8,) and costs. „ , Mike Loguc, a peddler, was fined $10 and costs. He has skipped out, and will probably not be found again by the police soon. In another case a fine of 820 and costa was entered against the defen dant. Tho case will be appealed to tho Superior court. COLORED. Mitchell. I gave her a teaspoonful of Chamberlain's Cough Rem edy, nnd in five minutes later I gave her one more. By this time she had to cough up the gathering in her throat. Then she went to sleep and slept good for fifteen min utes. Then she got up nnd vomited; then she went back to bed nnd slept good for the remninder of the night.
