Matters About Bold Spring. •‘Claude Hnzzel,” furnishes the Ochlockonee News with the following dots from Bold Spring : Miss Hattie Brown, of Thomasville is spending the week with Miss Lcla Poulk. On last Sunday afternoon a certain young man of our county was escort ing one of our most bashful young la dies home, and in their conversation she said, “don’t tell anybody that you escorted me home.” Don’t be afraid,” he replied,‘ I am as much ashamed of it as you arc.” Miss Mamie Singletary was elected our organist on Inst Sunday. Miss Mamie is gifted with an excellent mu sical talent, and we did well in secur ing her services. St. John, Charley Da- L v ".i-02pm Vls ' c i iar ger, took off the blue ribbon for the best stallion. St. John is a fa vorite with everybody who sees him, and is the finest sire except Revoke, in this or any of the adjoining coun ties. A number of other fine colts were on exhibition, and it is now an estab lished fact that our county can raise as fine horses and mules as the Blue grass region. The Hussars, Guards and Cadets formed in line at the court house and marched to the city park where ihe Hussars engaged in tilting f 0 f a hand some prize. There was some riding by several of the company bj u Mr. Willis Quarterman carried of the prize. Capt. McLean bad the appearance ot a real soldier as he sat on his beau tiful black cnarger. All the boys drill ed well and had a soldierly carriage. The best shots in the clay pigeon contest were Judge Hopkins, little Jimmie Hopkins and Cicero Young. Mr. Young and Jimmie lied on the single score, neither missing a shot in ten, whi'e in the double score of 15, the Judge and Mr. Young tied. The day was an enjoyable one and we are sorry that such beneficial sports do not draw larger crowds.—South West Georgian. G. W.
